A partnership exists between healthcare organizations and patient-handling technology manufacturers. This webinar will explore factors to help foster a productive relationship and learning for both parties. Insights from manufacturer’s representatives and SPHM coordinators will be shared. Topics will include: “ground rules” for effective collaboration, the safety and program goals as viewed by both partners and “down-to-earth” advice for insuring a successful, long-term association. Best practices for employee SPHM training and education will be reviewed and regulations and clinical compliance requirements affecting clinical product sales. Financial implications from both perspectives will be presented.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Evaluate “reasonable” expectations to promote a successful partnership between SPHM customers and manufacturer representatives.
  • Examine “ground rules” and practices to optimize learning and results for both partners.
  • Understand the primary financial and program goals from both perspectives.
  • Identify regulations and compliance requirements governing the sales relationship.

Patricia Wawzyniecki has 30 years’ experience in the field of employee health and safety as an Industrial Hygienist and Ergonomist. She is a Certified Safe Patient Handling Professional. Wawzyniecki has held positions in both private companies and government organizations. For 13 years, Wawzyniecki focused exclusively on ergonomics and safe patient handling at a public university hospital and research center. Currently she is a Safety Programs Manager for HoverTech International, assessing and advising healthcare institutions on safe patient handling and mobility. Patricia is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals.
