What a Lift Team Can Do for You

Are you struggling with staff buy-in and support at your facility when it comes to utilizing patient lifting equipment?  Have you ever considered a lift team but not sure if this is a viable option for your facility?  If so, please join us for this webinar so we can clarify the role of a lift team program and review how they can help enhance staff buy-in and support and help advance your safe patient handling program.


Manon Labreche is a Physical Therapist, a level 2 Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist and a certified health coach. She is the Manager of the lift team and Injury Prevention program at Tampa General Hospital (TGH).  She is responsible for the development of the Lift Team, Injury Prevention and ergonomics Program.  She has been in this position for 17 years and has been at TGH for 23 years. Manon’s innovative and creative program has received national recognition, which has been very successful in reducing patient handling injuries. Since its inception, TGH has seen a 62% reduction in patient handling injuries and a reduction in cost of over 90% for patient handling injuries.

Manon speaks at various national safe patient handling conferences. She is currently serving as an advisor for the Florida Hospital Association for the “we have your back” initiative and has recently presented 4 webinars on various SPHM topics. She has published articles on various safe patient handling topics including mobilizing bariatric patients, lift team, moving and handling patients in the operating rooms etc.

Manon has served on many National Task forces with the Tampa Patient Safety Center, the AORN and the ANA to assist with the development of safe patient handling guidelines and/or programs. TGH received the Best Practice Award for their injury prevention and lift team program at the annual safe patient handling conference in Orlando in 2009.

  • Discuss how lift teams can enhance lifting equipment buy in and support and strengthen your safe patient handling program.
