Certification Program Committees

The Certification Committee of the Board is responsible for all policies, procedures and issues governing and affecting the Certification Program.  This standing committee of the Board has an infrastructure that facilitates its functioning so that it is able to appropriately and comprehensively discharge its responsibilities independently from the corresponding governance of the Association:

Executive Team:

  • Provide guidance and leadership for the Certification Program including fiscal, marketing and other programmatic elements
  • Determine and develop policies and procedures needed for professional, cost-effective Program functioning
  • Work with all Committee members, Advisors and ASPHP Executive Director in meeting standards for Accreditation status

Exam Committee:

  • Develop certification exam according to acceptable procedures and meet required statistical testing standards
  • Determine and develop policies required for professional, cost-effective and consumer-friendly exam administration
  • Periodically conduct exam reviews for content applicability and accuracy
  • Update exam questions as required by current best practices and research findings

Marketing Committee:

  • Work collaboratively with ASPHP marketing committee to promote Certification

Evaluation and Renewal Committee:

  • Evaluate all CSPHP and CSPHA applicants in timely fashion
  • Evaluate all renewal submissions
  • Recommend certification awards to Executive Team for approval
  • Work with ASPHP staff regarding communication with applicants and certificants
  • Lead efforts for improvements to processes and tools available to applicants
  • Continuous improvement projects related to application, evaluation, contact hours and renewals as identified
